Jenna. Oct 18. Tower of Dishes.

One of the best things about Colby not taking naps anymore is that he gets to help me with some chores before he goes to play – inside, outside, on the computer, whatever is his preference after his homework is done.

Chores he does by himself at age 5 – washing dishes, putting dishes away, laundry (mainly switching), folding some laundry, putting clothes away, wiping the table and cabinets, setting the table, clearing the table, getting items out of the fridge & pantry.

Today his job was to unload the dishwasher, so he made a few towers while taking all the dishes out and waiting for me to put the breakables away.  Colby told me precious stories of how one was bigger than the other but the smaller one needed to help the bigger one because the bigger one wasn’t as strong as the smaller one.  I love peeking into a 5 year-old’s mind.

It’s amazing how fast dishes go when I have a helper!  [Kennedy can also help unload the dishwasher.. I've already mentioned she's a great helper.]

Colby:  Text your mother and father.
me:  What?
Colby:  I mean, Honor your mother and father, Text-odus 20:12.

Text-odus = Exodus.  :)
