I gave Colby a haircut today for the first time in a very long time. Why did it take me so long to do so? Well, we tried this a long time ago when he was 2, but it always turned out badly. He didn’t want to hold still and I didn’t know what I was doing. Trying to cut blonde hair is really tough, because every little mistake is glaring on that cotton-top head. But now that I’ve had about 3 years’ worth of watching him get haircuts in a racecar chair, I decided to give it a whirl.

Yes, we had to lose the clothes. If I’m going to do this more often, maybe I should invest in a salon-type covering so I won’t get hair all over him?

LOL, even though he looks pained in the pictures, you did an amazing job! We trim the girl’s hair up often up here, with actual “salon visits” (a big deal with Gracie) about every six months or so.
Sally’s up here carries the little capes for pretty cheap… even if you don’t use it for hair cutting, they come in handy for other things too… Faith’s was a drop cloth because she’s messy
