You should try the grocery game. My roommate and I do coupon clipping along with this "grocery game" and we save an average of $30 a week. One time we saved $90! There are a bunch of families I know who do this but save even more because they're a family not just 2 girls!! Kroger doubles and triples your coupons, and those savings could be great even if you do have to buy items that never go on sale (organic, etc.)

Seriously.

I'll be interested to see how this goes. In my very limited experience, I have run into two major problems. The first is that normal prices at Kroger (and Randalls, Walgreens, etc) are 99.9% of the time higher than normal prices at Walmart. Much higher actually, not just a little. As in strawberries for $4.99 vs. $1.99. The other problem is that most coupons are for brand-name things, and/or things I don't usually use. Very often, the generic brand is cheaper than the brand name even when you use the coupon. There are lots of "deals" at Walgreens, but I don't need 5 deoderants a month, or saline eye drops, or lots of shaving gel, or other things that usually you can get for free or very cheap stacking coupons.

Please don't think I"m trying to discourage you...I fully admit that I have never done couponing. These are just my armchair observations of those who HAVE tried it, and the little bit that I actually hear about their experiences. So please keep posting and updating us on your progess and experience, because if it is truly a huge money saver, then of course I"m all about it! Once I get up out of my armchair, that is. Where I sit all day eating bon bons.
