Jenna. Day 31. Orange Fruits.
The two large oranges and two smaller grapefruits are from my grandparents’ trees in their front yard. To give you an idea of how big they are, look at the palm-sized tangerine in front.

I adapted this recipe for Beef Stroganoff from Rachael Ray’s Power of 10 Cookbook. Rachael Ray comes up with quirky names for her recipes, so I thought I’d follow suit. We had my friend Heather and her 2 kids over on Thursday night and made this then. This pic is from the leftovers we ate today. Here’s my recipe.
2 lbs. stew meat
2 T worcestershire
2 c. sour cream
1 1/2 c. whipping cream or half&half
1/2 c. water or stock
1 T. grape jelly
S&P
1 lb. spaghetti
Cook the stew meat in the worcestershire sauce. Then add the remaining ingredients (except spaghetti). Boil the spaghetti in a separate pot according to package directions.
This would be really good with mushrooms. I didn’t think I would need quite so much dairy [I started out with just 1 c. whipping cream and 1 c. sour cream.] but it didn’t seem to have much sauce. Then when we mixed it with the noodles, it was perfect. It was a hit with Kevin and the kids so I think I’ll be making it again.

The kids got magnetic dress-up dolls for Christmas and they like to play with them together. Although it looks more like Battleship when they do. B-Right arm. C-Shoes.

Kevin went to Austin today with co-workers to accept an award on behalf of the company he works for. He looks great in a suit, doncha think?

Future profession? Professor of astro-physics. Or a super cool metrosexual worship leader.

Silly Tim.
Carlee thinks he’s funny too. [We ate at Abuelo's.]

On our way back from San Antonio, I looked in my mirror and saw this. We double backed several times to get the best shot of this. The Lord is good… amazing beauty. You must click to see it full size!!

Kevin and I went to San Antonio this weekend. This is of downtown San Antonio as we were driving.
I booked the trip as part of his Christmas present. We left the kids at my parents’ house and took off. No schedules, nothing to do but eat and sleep and eat and sleep some more. We had a great time and are already thinking about next year’s getaway!

This past weekend Jenna whisked me away to San Antonio for a little get away. We stopped in San Marcos for lunch, and went to a place called Grins. Amanda recommended this to us, the burger and onion rings were excellent!

Jenna and Kennedy both suddenly came down with a case of the stomach bug so I stayed home to care for them and also the other kids. They were asleep on the couch so I had to snap this one…. such beauties, even when they are sick!
