Rubber Ball Story

November 7th, 2008

I took my kids to The Bounce last week.  They have the inflatable bouncy houses, mazes, slides, etc. etc.  They also have $1 rubber bouncy balls that are a little smaller than a basketball.  I’m not exactly sure why they have these?  Maybe for the younger kids that can’t climb up the very high stairs to the slide?

Anyway, there was a little boy (maybe 4 or 5 years old) holding one of these balls and then he came up to me and said, “Can I please have your ball?”  He was looking directly at my stomach, as if I was hiding one of those bouncy balls!  I told him, “Sweetheart, I don’t have a ball.”  He kept looking at my stomach, like I was being mean to him and trying to keep the ball away from him!

To be fair, I do get his point, I mean, it does look like I am hiding a very large globe under my shirt.  And, if I could have given him my “ball”, I would have gladly taken it out for him!  Just kidding.  For my Halloween costume, I really thought about writing “Pumpkin Smuggler” on a very large shirt.  That was before someone alerted me to the fact that I’m not a very good smuggler.

Take a look for yourself.

I guess it’s not all that bad.

That is hilarious! It definitely looks like a ball in there in that picture, though not so quite so much these days, maybe because the baby is so much lower?

That’s really funny! That would have been a good costume too!

You really don’t even look pregnant except for the ball under your shirt!!! You look great!
