Mango Tea
May 24th, 2007
A word of caution. Do not order the Mango Tea from Sonic. I repeat, DO NOT ORDER. It tastes almost as bad as a Diet Dr. Pepper with Berries and Cream. Almost.
Kevin was sweet enough to ask me what I wanted at Sonic during Happy Hour, and I faintly seemed to remember hearing a commercial about some sort of new tea they were introducing. So, I told him a “mango peach tea”, thinking this sounded pretty good. Kevin ordered me a Tropical Mango tea, and it tastes more like sweet tropical dirt than anything. And we both like tea! (Note: The commercial was actually advertising peach tea OR tropical mango tea. I guess I could have had both flavors in the tea, but Kevin was ordering.)
So, I’m still searching for a non-caffeinated Sonic beverage to replace vanilla Dr. Pepper that I can’t have for awhile… any suggestions?

I suggest you try it again, psycho. That is my new favorite drink from there. I will admit the first sip or two may be extra crazy because all of the syrup is at the bottom, but the rest of it I really like. I guess it’s kind of like the other day when I went to Chili’s and ordered Blackberry Tea and it was ALL syrup and I couldn’t even finish it and it ruined my soup.
Don’t try the peach tea though. That stuff’s nasty. As are all things flavored like peach. Except peaches. And peach jolly ranchers.

I had the peach tea there last year, thinking it would be delicious. It wasn’t. I get the cheap store brand diet peach drink mix from Wal Mart, and that tasted better than the Sonic Tea. I wouldn’t try their mango tea either, just because the peach was so bad. And i love peach! I don’t know about drinks from Sonic, but I drink the Diet V-8 Splash, Tropical flavor. It’s pretty good. Also, Minute Maid has light lemonade that is only 5 calories per serving! But you might not be watching calories.

I can’t have caffeine ever - welcome to my word… I usually go for the diet sprite with cherry. I can’t have the sugar too much either. Once you find out you can’t have the caffeine or the sugar, Sonic drinks kinda lose their “luster”…

@ Erin & Melissa - I can have sugar but not nutrasweet or caffeine… I fudge a little bit when I drink tea at restaurants. I’m not watching calories just yet; in fact I think I’m on the anti-diet right now.
@ mab - Kevin is a big fan of the cherry limeades with extra cherry flavoring. Bleh. Don’t like cherry.
@ Ashley - I like peaches but not straight peach flavoring. It needs to be mixed with something.
@ Everyone - This is why it’s so hard!
Next time I’m trying a vanilla sprite… Katrina says it’s awesome.

Are you the one that’s anti-diet drinks? Because vanilla diet dr. pepper is alot like vanilla dr. pepper. I know. They taste different. But it’s still good.

Oh never mind. I just reread no caffeine and no nutrasweet. I guess that puts my drink out.
