Still no baby.
March 29th, 2007
Okay, went to the doctor today… I’m 3 cm dilated and 80% effaced. My mom says at this rate I have 7 more weeks to go! :) Doctor says the baby weighs about 7 pounds now and that things are looking good. He said to call him when contractions are 7-8 minutes apart, instead of the normal 4-5 minutes… He’s thinking things will progress quickly once they start. And, I hope he’s right!
Tomorrow, March 30th, is Kevin’s birthday! So, we’ll see if Baby Girl really IS a Daddy’s Girl. Last night she was moving and moving and moving like crazy. I picked up Kevin’s hand for him to feel her and she completely stopped. The doctor says Kevin has a calming effect on her. Guess who gets to handle the midnight diaper changes?
Speaking of, his birthday cake is in the oven and the timer’s going off. Yellow cake with chocolate icing. (Well, the yellow cake is in the oven, not the icing.. that comes later.) This is Kevin’s favorite. Thank the Lord for Betty Crocker.

Happy Birthday, Shmev. And Beulah, wait till Daddy’s birthday is over to come out. Nobody likes to share a birthday with anything.

well, it looks like she won’t share a birthday with anyone we’re related to… my mom’s birthday was today (the 31st). And, with our Easter musical tomorrow morning, our music minister just may fall for a “Her water broke!” April Fool’s joke… that would be TOO cruel though.

Yeah. You’ll go ahead and see my April Fool’s joke if you get on myspace today. I’m only telling you instead of just letting you see it and fall for it since you never get on there anyway. I’m trying to see how many people fall for it. It’s the first real April Fool’s Day thing I’ve ever done, because I hate the holiday. I just randomly came up with the joke a few weeks ago and decided to go for it. I’m just glad it’s not on a school day this year. Don’t have Myra tomorrow though. It would never be fun to have your birthday on April Fool’s Day.

Having an April 1 birthday has not turned out to be bad for me! I have survived 26 years this way! My dad was glad when my mom pulled the “my water broke” on this date in 1981 since I was due March 12. Good luck!

Ashley- That IS a good one. Sort of.
Stacy- Don’t tell me that! I am hoping your mom’s due date was wrong with you… I really didn’t care if she was born today; it would have been great to just have her! :) I have decided this Baby Girl was determined to be an April baby and not share her birth month with the rest of my family.
I am trusting that the Lord knows what He is doing.. only in His timing, I keep reminding myself…. over and over again.
Oh, and Stacy, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I always told my mom I waited until April so that when I grew up, my husband HAD to buy me diamonds!!!

You are one smart lady! I forgot about that… But, she’s not getting diamonds from her parents until she graduates from A&M. Or gets her doctorate. Or determines a cure for cancer. I have high expectations for this kid!
Just kidding. She won’t ever get diamonds from us.
