Sawing Logs.
March 7th, 2007
People have been asking me if I have been sleeping well at night. The answer has been no, but last night I got some Really good sleep. Then Kevin and I went to the doctor today and I told him he looked tired. I asked if he slept well last night and he said,
“I had to pull out the ear plugs.”
Well, apparently I’ve been hit with pregnancy-induced snoring. There’s actually such a thing! I asked the doctor about it and he said, “When you’re pregnant, basically everything inside of you swells.” (Surprise, surprise…) So my nasal passages are larger than usual, thus causing the need to snore. That, and the fact that I can’t complete a REM cycle for having to go to the bathroom every 1.5 hours, makes me very tired and wanting to sleep even more.
Today I also took a 30-minute nap on the couch, after the doctor’s visit. I woke up to find Cooper sniffing my face. I guess he had heard me snoring and was making sure I was okay, with this strange noise coming out of me. (At night Cooper can put his blanket over his head, but he knows not to get on the bed when we’re in it. Kevin said he tried to put a blanket over his own head but it didn’t work… even through the earplugs and the blanket, I snored on.)
I will say one thing for Kevin’s lack of sleep. He was wise as to not wake me up. Never wake a sleeping pregnant lady. My doctor even said so.
Oh, and by the way, my doctor checked me today. I am 1 cm dilated and 60% effaced. Due date’s in 4 weeks but I don’t think I’ll make it. Wahoo! My guess is + or - 2 weeks. Anyone wanna take bets? ![]()

Wow! About 2 more weeks! That’s really exciting!!!!
I’m going to bookmark this particular post for my hub to read when I begin snoring. Then he’ll know it’s normal. And, the always stated phrase: “NEVER WAKE UP MAB!” will become “NEVER EVER EVER WAKE UP PREGNANT MAB!!! JENNA’S DOCTOR SAID SO!!!” Yeah, that’s got more punch to it.

Well, seeing that your whole family’s birthday is in March, this works out well, right? Maybe Gertrude will share a birthday with someone in the family!

Did you know that Gertrude was my grandmother’s name? Or did you just pick that out of the air? Just curious!
Yes, we have family birthdays in March:
2nd, 6th, 7th, 20th, 21st (x2), 22nd, 26th, 30th, 31st.
And, I’m sure I’m forgetting someone.

Just totally pulled it out of the air, and what’s funny is that earlier I was talking with some friends and one of them picked out a random baby name and said Gertrude also. It was great.
