First video post!

December 28th, 2006

Here’s my first video blog. This is the video that Jenna was referencing in her previous post about the video that I did for Christmas Eve at church. It was a lot of fun to put together because the kids just say exactly what is on their mind. But it was challenging because we started with 57 minutes of footage and worked it down to this 3 minute presentation.

Credit where credit is due…. Thanks to:

  • Trey Holt from KBTX for filming this with his excellent xD cam
  • Doug Sweet for his creative efforts from start to finish
  • Julie Hamilton for interviewing the kids
  • All the kids’ parents who probably had no idea we were doing this until they saw it Christmas Eve!
  • Jackie Stephenson for the piano background track

It’s late… so I’m not going to write much more. Hope you enjoy!

That’s great! You did an amazing job. I do actually recognize a few of those kids from back in the day. (Probably not as many as I should though)

Thanks… glad you liked it! I am always looking for new and creative things to do with media… so if you have any ideas or see something that might inspire a spark of genius, let me know.

Me again. I’m loving that blonde kid with the red checkered shirt and black sweater vest. He’s funny. Is the girl in the purple that talked about the turquoise stripes the K—’s youngest? She’s so big! And that older boy that’s so verbal… who is he? Is he a K— too? Anyway, great job again. And I don’t have a whole lot of media-related creativity. I make my kids a slide show of pictures at the end of each year using Windows Movie Maker and that’s about it. But I’ll let you know if anything else comes to mind. Right.

I’m so impressed! Not only in a great video job, but with the kids. Thank you for sharing! Beautiful!

Yes, Ashley, you’re right.  And the other kids you wouldn’t recognize.

Kevin is not limited by amount of equipment or technology, he is looking for ideas! This project started out with him saying, “I wonder what we’d come up with if we interviewed some kids and asked them to tell the Christmas story.” And bam! You’ve seen the results! :)
