It’s beginning to look a lot like….

…well, Christmas is the obvious answer, but right now it looks more like a bleak, dreary, winter-mix-in-the-forecast day.  And that is precisely what we have.. winter mix in the forecast.  We already reached the high temp for today, which was at 2 am, and that was 78 degrees.  Now it is more like 35 degrees and supposed to get even colder than that.  !!!  Time to bundle up your plants and cover the dogs!  Or, something like that.

Whenever I can get my wonderful husband to show me how to use my digital camera he bought for my birthday, I’ll have some more pictures of Colby up.  Until then, my battery is dead and I don’t think I can  even hook it up…

We are going to Dallas this weekend for a conference.  We haven’t taken our Christmas decorations down from the attic yet.  When Colby rides around town with us, he looks at the Christmas lights and says, “Light!”  Then, “Bye-bye, light!” as we pass by.  I have a feeling he’s going to love Christmas this year.  Last year he ate paper and bows and sat in my lap as “we” opened presents.  I guess he loved it then, but it will be really fun for him now.  Everyone tells me we need to go to Santa’s Wonderland.. he’ll probably be in my lap in the front seat, trying to get to all the lights!

Once I have pictures of the Colby, I’ll have something more interesting to say.  Oh, and we’re still waiting to scan the pictures in of the new baby too…  she’s kicking me more and more each day!  Colby asks me, “Where’s baby sister?” and puts his hands up and shrugs his shoulders.  Then he says, “There!” and points to my tummy.. then lifts up my shirt, kisses & hugs my tummy, says, “No!” and pulls my shirt down.  He is so funny.

When it rains, it pours!

Has anyone ever heard that saying? Mom has some cross-stitch of this (I think it belonged to her Mom.) but it says, “When it rains, it pours Morton Salt!” So, I never really understood the saying until I figured out that this was actually a commercial cross-stitch and not some profound saying.

Anyway, the title of the post is totally true…. it seems like this week has been the busiest we have had in a long time. I know we all get busy from time to time, but usually things are a little more spread out. Not true this time. We have so many things cram/jam packed into this week that I don’t even want to take time and explain them all.

The one you need to know about, however, is that right now Kevin is working on a video production for our church’s 140th anniversary. We’ll be celebrating on Sunday, so he has to finish the video tonight. Yes, I know it’s only Thursday night, but this weekend also happens to be Thanksgiving with the Grubbs Family. (Every year, the weekend before Thanksgiving is reserved in Bedford for turkey & dressing. It works like a charm, usually.) So, we’re leaving tomorrow (Friday) to make the trek, and then Saturday is the eating day and the coming back day so that we can have the 140th on Sunday. I’m sure this all makes perfect sense, especially since it’s about 11:30 at night…

So, please pray for Kevin to finish this video rapidly.. I know that most of you won’t read this until after he’s done, but you can still remember him and all the work that he is putting in at our church. He doesn’t get paid near what he’s worth, and he still does his job without complaining. This is a mark of a true servant. I am so thankful for his leadership.

Colby is doing great, as is our little girl, for those of you that didn’t know I’m having a girl. :) More on that later.

What good is a temper tantrum if nobody’s around to see it?

Well as Colby makes it to the toddler years, I expect we may see something similar to this. Check out the link, it’s a pretty video hilarious.
